Schools and Departments
Rice’s six schools and more than 40 academic departments are the backbone of the university. Whatever your interests—from visual arts to mathematics—there’s a place you’ll fit in at Rice. Even though students must select a school during the application process, this doesn’t limit the opportunity to explore other areas across Rice’s curriculum.
In fact, many Rice students aren’t content to simply declare one major. They’re famous for double and even triple majoring—nearly 35 percent of Rice students pursue more than one major.
