Favorite thing to do at Rice: I love to go to the Coffeehouse on campus and get chai tea lattes with my friends during one of our many study breaks.
The thing that surprised me most about Houston: I didn’t realize Houston’s theater district was the largest in the country after Manhattan. I love it!
What I like most about Houston: I love getting to go to a variety of plays, musicals, and ballets in the theater district, especially since Rice subsidizes the tickets.
Ways in which Rice has changed/shaped me: I came from a homogenous town where everyone was the same. At Rice, I have been exposed to many different cultures, religious beliefs, and ways of life in general. I am much more educated, and I have enjoyed learning about people who are different than I am.
Something I’ve done at Rice that I didn’t expect to do: I never thought that I would be able to continue cheering after high school, let alone serve as the Rice cheer captain for two years. Rice Cheerleading has been my biggest commitment at Rice, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I still have enough time to get my schoolwork done, since we don’t compete, while also being able to continue with an activity that I have done for years.
Favorite food at Rice: The salmon is always good.
My plans after graduation: Attend the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
Rice is: The best decision that I have made so far.
