A degree of difference
By graduation day, 75 percent of the Class of 2006 had accepted jobs, been admitted to graduate or professional schools, or made alternative plans, such as joining Teach for America or traveling internationally on a Fulbright or Watson fellowship. Costs and Financial Aid

We know the very idea of paying for a college education can be overwhelming and the process of applying for aid can be daunting.

But at Rice, we’re committed to providing financial assistance for our students and to making the process of getting that aid as painless as possible.

Here are some important things to know about our financial aid:

  • Our admission process is need-blind, which ensures that your admission to Rice is not influenced by your financial background.
  • We meet 100 percent of a student's financial need based on financial aid eligibility.
  • For families with less than $80,000 in total income, we meet all need with grants and work study—no loans.
  • For families with more than $80,000 in total income, we will cap the amount of loans in financial packages at $10,000 for the four undergraduate years.
  • Our graduates go on to graduate school or enter the workforce with less than half the debt of graduates of Ivy League schools.

We understand that serious consideration of Rice for your undergraduate education will be influenced by the financing options available to you. So, please, explore the links above to find out more about our financial aid opportunities.
