Community Service
Rice students get involved and give back to the community with help from the university’s Community Involvement Center. The center advises 11 student-run service organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and the English as a Second Language Tutoring Program.
The Rice Student Volunteer Program (RSVP), one of the most popular student groups on campus, organizes educational awareness and service opportunities for the Rice community. Students can:
- mentor youth
- work in homeless shelters
- assist environmental preservation groups
- organize food and clothing drives
- build wheelchair ramps for Houston’s elderly
It’s all available in the nation’s fourth-largest city. You just need to decide where to lend a hand.
