Nuts about Rice
We boast a five-squirrel ranking according to Jon’s World o’ Squirrels website. The campus squirrel listings states, “The quality of an institution of higher learning can often be determined by the size, health, and behavior of the squirrel population on campus.” We think our squirrels are on to something.

Information Sessions

Information sessions are offered year-round at the following times:

January – March: 2 p.m. only, Monday-Friday
April – December: 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday-Friday

Information sessions are also available most Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. during the academic year. Plan your visit to Rice.

Rice information sessions led by admission officers provide an excellent way to learn about our academic programs, student life, application process and financial aid options. An information session plays an important part of the campus visit experience and will give you the chance to ask an admission officer your questions about Rice. Tours led by current Rice students offer the perfect follow-up to the information sessions.

Advance registration is required. On the day of the campus visit, prospective students should check in at the front desk in the Admission Office (Lovett Hall, Entrance C, building No. 40 on the campus map).

Campus Tours

Student-led walking tours of campus are offered year-round at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays. Saturday tours are available at 10:30 a.m. during the academic year. Tours are best paired with an information session. Plan your visit to Rice.

Our one-hour walking tours depart from the Admission Office (Lovett Hall, Entrance C, building No. 40 on the campus map). You will explore classrooms, the university library, and the student center. You will also stop at one of our unique residential colleges for a visit to a student dorm room and a dining hall. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
